A Thousand Pictures for A Thousand Lakes Camping Trip

A couple weeks ago we went camping with Malias for the first time. We went with my family and stayed at Thousands Lakes RV park in Torrey Utah. The first day we got there we went to Capitol Reef (which is pretty close) and did a little bit of exploring.
These first few pics are at one of the little stops across from the Blacksmith Shop in Capitol Reef, but I couldn't remember or find its name.

Here is my niece and nephew. Jennica and Adam being funny.

Here is Me and Malais being silly too.

There was a little building with a bunch of children activities that teach about capitol reef and its history.

A bunch of us did this stamping station where you had to find the stamp of animals prints and stamp them in the correct box on the paper. I must e a kid at heart cause I thought it was fun...lol.

Can you tell how much Kenny loves for me to take his picture?...ha ha.

Across the street to the Blacksmith Shop. I thought this was so funny, how all the guys were peering inside for a while, while us women just stood back.

Malias on an old tiller...or something like that next to the Shop. It didn't say anywhere what it was.

Still on the tiller. Such a Cutie!

I just loved this old truck...dunno really why. It just looks cool. Its out in front of the Historic Gifford Homestead.

Cheesers!

The Historic Gifford Homestead
This was fun because I love seeing old homes decorated the way it would have been in the early 1900's. It also has hand made items for sale like, jams, salsas, aprons, soaps and much more.

They also sold little homemade ice cream cups for like a dollar. This is everyone enjoying there ice cream in front of the house.

This is in front of the petroglyphs.

Some petroglyphs.

The boarded walkway to some more petroglyphs. I love how pretty this walk way looks with the soft tree shade and the red rocks.

Malias thought this tree on the side of the pathway was pretty neat.

Back at the campground. This is a nice campground with showers and a pool. We have been here quite a few times.

Malias in a captians chair. He looked so small in it I had to get some pics.

I don't remember what this face was for...I think he was looking at the fire....scary fire?? hee hee

Cousin Jennica loves babies and Malias loves watching her.

On Saturday (the second day) we drove to the trail head of Calf Creek about an hour away. This is such a great hike. This was my third time hiking it and I think I love it more each time. Its a 6 mile hike round trip but SO worth it. This is just after we started.

We bought a baby carrier for this hike that Malias seemed to really enjoy.

We made it to the Amazing waterfall! The hike follows a little creek between two cliffs until you come to a dead end and the waterfall its so awsome looking.

Handsome boys playing in the freezing water.

What an amazing sight!! I love it.

Trying to get a pic of me and little buddy...he he

Malias thought the dirt was Awesome.....

Matt swimming in the freezing water. The hike can get pretty hot and by the time you get there the freezing water doesn't sound so bad. Although I didn't get in this time it was nice to get my feet wet.

Jennica playing in the gooey mud. Her brave Daddy carried her whenever she didn't want to walk...which was most of the way!!

Grandpa C helping Malias around. So cute!

I don't know why he was crying here. Kenny had been swishing his feet in the water and then whe he took him out he started to cry for a min. Maybe he didn't want to stop or maybe his feet got to cold?

Having fun with Daddy. Where the water turns into a stream/creek/thing. :)

I love how stinkin chubby Malias looks here! lol

Heading back to the cars after a long rest and fun at the falls. Beautiful scenery!!

Malias just couldn't stay awake anymore. His poor little head was bobbing all around for a bit.

After a short cat nap Malias was happy again. Love his little smirk here.

Here is the whole group, minus me. We have almost made it back.

Love this funny monkey!

The end of the trail!!...or I guess technically its the begining...ha ha

I can't wait to go again!!

Oh those are so cute!! I'm so glad you did this post. I had more fun looking at the pictures then I've had in a long time.
